Blueflame, Datasite’s M&A agent, can help you work through a deal. Tell it what you need, which sources matter, and what the result should contain. Check important facts and assumptions before you use its work.
Start a task
Choose the start point that fits your work:
Ask a question: Open Home or Chats and enter a request. You can select Choose Files to add material.
Use a guided task: Select a Sourcing, Research, Diligence, Modeling, or Monitoring starter on Home or Chats. You can also open Agents → Suggested Tasks. A task may ask for details before it continues. For example, Build Sector Target List asks which sector to target.
Work in a Project: For work you will return to, open a Project. Enter a request on Overview, or open Workspace → New panel → Chat. The Project keeps related work together.
Start from an uploaded file: Open the file in Files and select Start Chat. Grata attaches the file to the request.
If your team has a defined method for a task, select a Skill from the chat menu. You can also select Run in Agents → Skill Library. This opens a draft request with the Skill selected. Add the details you need, then send it.
Write a useful request
Include the goal, scope, sources, and output. Name a source when it matters. Before you rely on firm or third-party data, check its status under Account Settings → Connections → Agent Connections. Available sources depend on your account and permissions.
Tell Blueflame what you want in the response. You can ask it to explain key findings, flag assumptions, identify sources, or use a format that fits your task. These examples can help you start:
Work area | Example request |
Sourcing | Use our investment criteria and Grata company data to find possible add-on targets in [region]. Rank them by fit, explain each choice, and flag assumptions. |
Research | Build a brief on [sector]. Cover its segments, key companies, trends, and relevant deals. Ask me for any missing investment criteria. |
Diligence | Compare management’s adjusted EBITDA with the quality of earnings report. Show the bridge, disputed adjustments, and source pages. |
Modeling | Review the attached model. Check its key formulas and assumptions. Show how changes in leverage, growth, and exit value affect the result. |
Monitoring | Compare the latest monthly report with the plan. Flag the three most important KPI changes and suggest questions for management. |
Review and refine the result
Check the source material for key facts. Identify which figures came from a source and which are assumptions. In the same chat, ask Blueflame to correct a finding, change the scope, or present the result in a more useful format. Use Grata’s structured pages when you need to review records or control search filters directly.
