What a Blueprint is

A Blueprint is a saved sequence of prompts for a task you need to repeat. It can ask the person running it for text or a file. You can choose where the output goes and add a schedule or an email attachment trigger.

Use a Blueprint when the steps and output format should stay the same each time. Use Chat for an open-ended conversation. Use an Agent Task when a predefined task fits your work. Review the output before you use it to make a decision.

Create a Blueprint

  1. Go to Agents → Blueprint Library. Select + (Create), then select New Blueprint.

  2. In Settings, enter a Name. This field is required. Add a Description to explain what the Blueprint does.

  3. Review the selected Agent and change it if needed. Select a Project if the Blueprint belongs to one.

  4. Write prompts and add inputs.

    1. In Prompts, enter the instructions the Blueprint will run.

    2. To request information from the person running it, select + inside a prompt. Choose Create text user input or Create file input, and give the input a clear name. Created inputs appear under User inputs.

    3. Select Add prompt if the Blueprint needs another set of instructions.

    4. If you want help writing prompts:

      1. Expand Need help creating prompts? → How to fill.

      2. Describe the goal, data sources, useful context, and desired output format. Include details such as length, headings, bullet points, or tables.

      3. Select Generate, then review and edit the suggested prompts.

  5. Under Output, choose where the result goes:

    • For Web, use Chat To Deliver To to choose a chat. The default is New Chat.

    • For Email, you can enter an optional Email Target and Email Subject. Separate multiple email addresses with semicolons. Select Treat as prompt if you want the subject field to contain a prompt rather than a fixed subject line.

  6. Review Output Settings and turn on the options you need:

    • Show All Execution Prompts: Show the output from every execution prompt when the Blueprint runs.

    • Don’t Send Empty Output: Do not deliver the Blueprint if its output is empty.

    • Deliver Emails for Child Blueprints: If this Blueprint starts another Blueprint that delivers by email, send that child Blueprint’s completion email after this Blueprint finishes. This setting has no effect if the Blueprint does not start another Blueprint.

  7. If needed, select Add Schedule under Schedules. You can also choose a document type under Email Attachment Triggers.

  8. Select Test Blueprint to test the prompts. Review the result, make any changes, then select Save.

Organize and find Blueprints

  1. Go to Agents → Blueprint Library.

  2. To make a folder, select + (Create) → New Folder. Enter a Name. In Blueprints, select any existing Blueprints you want to add, then select Create.

  3. To view one folder, open All Folders and select it. Select All Folders again to return to the full list.

  4. Use Search Blueprints to find a Blueprint by name. Select Filter blueprints to filter by active or archived status, category, delivery, schedule, library, or creator.

The list shows each Blueprint’s name, owner, creation date, last run, next run, and sharing status. The Shared with tab in the editor shows who has access. For a new Blueprint, it says that the Blueprint has not been shared.
