What Chat is
Chat lets you work with Blueflame, Datasite’s M&A agent. Describe the result you need, add relevant information, and ask follow-up questions to refine the work.
Start a chat
Open Chats under My Workspace and enter a request. You can also select Sourcing, Research, Diligence, Modeling, or Monitoring to see suggested tasks.
Name the company and provide your investment criteria. For example:
Review [company] against these investment criteria: [criteria]. Summarize its products, customers, and growth signals. List the information we still need for a screening decision.
Add information and tools
Select + beside the prompt, then choose the option that fits your task:
Add Files: Add files to the chat.
Browse Folders: Open Select files. Choose a source and the files you need, then select Confirm Selection.
Connections: Choose a connected source when you want Blueflame to use it for this request. You can also type
@and part of the source name, then select it from the suggestions.Skills: Choose a saved Skill to apply instructions for a task. You can also type
/and part of the Skill name, then select it from the suggestions.Web Search: Add public web information to the request. This option inserts
@Webin the prompt.
For example, if your team uses Slack, choose Connections → Slack MCP. This adds @SlackMCP to the prompt. Then ask:
@SlackMCP Review [company] against these investment criteria: [criteria]. Summarize its products, customers, and growth signals. Check Slack for prior team discussions about the company, including concerns and open questions. Keep team comments separate from company facts. Cite the sources and list what we still need for a screening decision.
Continue and check the work
Ask a follow-up question in the same chat when you need to check or improve a result. If you added a confidential information memorandum (CIM), you could ask:
Separate findings supported by the CIM from assumptions. Then draft five questions for the management meeting.
When a response includes citations or a Sources button, open them to check important findings before you use or share the result. You remain responsible for the decision.
Find earlier work
Chats appear in the history list on the left. Select the filter icon beside Chats to show All entries or only Agent Tasks, Blueprints, Chats, or Email entries. These are history categories, not all types of Chat.
Manage a chat
Open a chat and select the three-dot menu beside its title:
Add to project: Select an existing Project, then select Add to group the chat with related work.
Send to email: Choose PowerPoint, Email, Audio, or Template from the submenu.
Download: Choose Word, Excel, or PDF.
Delete chat: Remove a chat you no longer need.
Use a Project to keep work on a deal, market thesis, or continuing task together. For existing Blueflame users, Projects are the evolution of Spaces.
